One of the biggest downfalls of any Church or organization is the pursuit of power.    For those who pursue power, seek to elevate themselves above their fellowman and then try to dominate other men.  In seeking to subjugate others, they fail to tap into the real power, the power of the Most High God.  No where in the scripture does God allow men to dominate other men.  He does give us leaders, but disciples of Christ (followers) do not seek to dominate those he has been given to lead.   I think it would be safe to say, domination is  a form of oppression.

(KJV) Leviticus 25:17 Ye shall not therefore oppress one another; but thou shalt fear thy God: for I am the LORD your God.

Here is a letter I have obtained written by a COGIC Bishop.  Click  here to read it, Enough is enough

Here is another letter with a similar theme written a few months ago dealing with acts of oppression and an accusation of obstruction of justice written by Dr. Lovett to Bishop Sheard

These letters add another voice to the issues addressed in this letter by Bishop Samuel Nesbitt

  1. “The diseased have ye not strengthened, neither have ye healed that which was sick, neither have ye bound up that which was broken, neither have ye brought again that which was driven away, neither have ye sought that which was lost; but with force and with cruelty have ye ruled them.” Ezekiel 34:4

    • Ezekiel 22:29-30 The people of the land have used oppression, and exercised robbery, and have vexed the poo and needy: yea, they have oppressed the stranger wrongfully. And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none.
