Bishop Samuel P Nesbitt; “The Still Small Voice”

Here is a letter I found, written by Bishop Samuel Nesbitt which includes a copy of a letter addressed to Bishop Blake written some time ago.

Bishop Nesbitt’s letter:

  1. I would hope that someone in the church can tell us when will the General Board of the COGIC come to Washington, DC and take care of business. Already, many of the Pastors have gone independent due to the actions of Bishop Coles. Can someone answer our request.

    • That is question a lot of people are asking. I wish I knew the answer. If I were to venture a guess, based on my experience, it will never happen. Their actions prove they do not care about the people. Just as Peter, who was walking on the water, began to sink when he took his eyes off Jesus, we too are sinking into the miry clay which we sing he has lifted us out of. When obeying the Word of God is second to obeying the constitution, when we preach the Word on Sunday, but rule by the constitution and the wisdom of men the rest of the week it is no surprise we have what we have. The very fact these things exist in the church, is proof “judgement” has begun. We know judgement begins with the household of faith;
      1 Peter 4:17
      (17) “For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?”
