My COGIC Brothers and Sisters

Our current polity system, (Constitution; pages 1-39 of the 1992 Official Manual) is void of the WORD OF GOD, and accommodates that which is contrary to and outside the WORD OF GOD!   Under the current polity system, bishops and pastors are the only members in the Church of God in Christ with “constitutional” rights.   This system establishes and enshrines respect of persons, which is contrary to the Word of GOD .

 Romans 2:11 For there is no respect of persons with God.

 James 2:1  My brethren, have not the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory, with respect of persons

 James 2:9  But if ye have respect to persons, ye commit sin, and are convinced of the law as transgressors

The  polity system establishes men as dominators, not leaders.  This system gives place to the biblical evil; perversion.  The system perverts the very first gift GOD gave to mankind, the gift of dominion.

Genesis 1:26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.   (KJV)

GOD did not give man dominion over another man,  GOD calls leaders, not dominators.

Matthew 20: 25-28 But Jesus called them unto him, and said, Ye know that the princes of the Gentiles exercise dominion over them, and they that are great exercise authority upon them. 26 But it shall not be so among you: but whosoever will be great among you, let him be your minister; 27 And whosoever will be chief among you, let him be your servant: 28 Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.    (KJV)

1 Peter 5:1–3 1 The elders which are among you I exhort, who am also an elder, and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, and also a partaker of the glory that shall be revealed: 2 Feed the flock of God which is among you, taking the oversight thereof, not by constraint, but willingly; not for filthy lucre, but of a ready mind; 3 Neither as being lords over God’s heritage, but being ensamples to the flock.(KJV)

There is a distinct difference between leaders and dominators.    GOD’s word defines the character of a leader;

Hebrews 13:7  Remember them which have the rule over you, who have spoken unto you the word of God: whose faith follow, considering the end of their conversation.

Leaders called of GOD speak the Word of GOD to us, walk out the Word of GOD by faith and we all know, faith worketh by love Galatians 5:6.  Leaders called of GOD are accountable to GOD and the brethren, Hebrews 13:17.   GOD’S  word,  Matthew 18:15-17,  establishes accountability among brethren, and the biblical procedure to bring the matter before the church when that accountability is not acknowledged.    In 1 Timothy 5:19-20, GOD establishes the accountability of elders to the church, bishops and pastors are also elders.

Those who operate following the dictates of the spirit of the dominator, operate outside the parameters of scripture.  They are not accountable to laity.  They easily withhold material information, for example the vote to change the location of the convocation;  delegates were asked to vote  approve the  relocation of the convocation without knowing the destination site.  When they asked what city was being proposed, that information was withheld.

  1. I have experienced this spirit of domination in the church. At first I thought it was my duty to be obedient (as do many other members) How, ever it did not agree with my spirit and I was not at ease with being intimidated by leadership for simply asking questions. I could see the clear difference in the church between true leaders and those who wish to dominate and establish themselves as …”Over The People”.

    Good Article.

    • Only someone operating outside the will of GOD will try to dominate. Real leaders know ,”… not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit says the Lord of host” (Zech 4:6)
